Pumpkin Patch Classic
CIFSC is hosting its first in-house skater showcase! This is the perfect way to try out competing in a safe and encouraging environment. All skaters from Learn to Skate or who compete in a level included in the Compete USA track are encouraged to participate!
How to Compete?
Register: REGISTER HERE for the Pumpkin Patch Classic 10/4 from 1:30-3:00! We will offer events from Basic 1/Snowplow Sam to Excel Preliminary Plus. Cost is $35 for the first event and $20 for each additional event.
Practice with your Coach: Skaters participating in our in-house events or any sanctioned competition need a coach. Please make sure to speak with your skater's coach before registering for any competition. A skater's coach will ensure they are adequately prepared to compete by preparing a program, choosing the appropriate event, and helping your skater prepare for competition through practice and support. No Coach, No Problem! If your skater does not yet have a private coach please contact our skating director, Lindsay Danner, and she can help connect you to a coach.
Get ready for the Event: Focus on Fun! Prepare your skater by talking about the upcoming competition. Emphasize that this is a fun activity and that lots of their friends will be participating. Skaters can get nervous, so make sure they feel supported and that you will be proud just because they skated! Skaters will need a costume/outfit for their performance. Talk to your skater's coach to determine what makes the most sense for this event. Part of the excitement for new competitors is the process of getting ready!
Every skater will earn a unique pumpkin patch classic award and receive feedback on their performance. This is a great way to practice your routine in a competition-like setting ahead of the Cranberry Classic in Rockford, IL on November 2!
