Interested in coaching for CIFSC? Below is our coaching policy and expectations.

Coaching Policy

All coaches and LTS instructors interested in either providing private coaching during Club Ice, teaching Club Classes, or taking a leadership role in the Ice Show must apply for coaching privileges. The Core Board Members (President/Vice President/Secretary/Treasurer) will approve coaching privilege applications. Coaching privileges may be revoked by a vote of the Core Board Members, for reasons such as violations of the Coaches Code of Conduct, violation of the BIC Coaching Agreement, or other reasons as determined.

The following must be provided via email to presdient@ci-fsc.org:

  • Copy of Liability Insurance

  • Is either a Full USFS Membership of CIFSC, or a Full Member of another Club and an Associate Membership of CIFSC

  • Proof of completed USFS Coach Compliance for current year (if a Full Member of CIFSC, we can confirm this online)

  • Signed Coaches Code of Conduct

  • Orientation with assigned CIFSC Coach including a working knowledge of safety policy

  • Coaching privileges approved by the Bloomington Ice Center, and signed coaching agreement on file with BIC

Opportunities for coaches who have been extended club coaching privileges to offer Club Classes or take on leadership roles in the Ice Show (choreographing, artistic director, stage manager, etc.) will be determined by the Core Board Members (President/Vice President/Secretary/Treasurer). All of these opportunities will be either be on a volunteer basis or paid based on an agreement as an independent contractor.
