Since 2012, we have lead the figure skating community in the Bloomington-Normal, Illinois area.

Our Mission

We exist to advance the instruction and practice in our community of all disciplines of figure skating. The members of our club work as a team to help each other improve through friendly competition and ice shows.

our story

The Central Illinois Figure Skating Club was formed in 2012 . Our club is home to skaters of all ages and skill levels - from those just starting to explore the world of figure skating, to seasoned competitors, and every level in between.

Our home ice is the Bloomington Ice Center in Bloomington, Illinois. We work closely with the Bloomington Parks & Recreation department's Learn to Skate program to encourage new skaters to advance in the sport. In 2016, we created our Junior Academy Member program, which allows Basic Skills level skaters to participate in club events and enter U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned competitions.

The CIFSC produced its first annual exhibition in 2013 at the Bloomington Ice Center, turning our practice rink into an ice theater. In 2018, we moved the show to Bloomington's Grossinger Motors Arena. Our shows get bigger and better each year, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our skaters, coaches and parent volunteers.

The CIFSC hosted its first competition in 2015. Summer's Last Hurrah attracts skaters from around Illinois and sometimes farther, offering events at all levels of Basic Skills.
